Dear Lottery Bumper Draws 2026: Dates, Ticket Price and Prizes
Every Dear bumper drawn in 2026 — May Day, Rathyatra, Ganesh Chaturthi and the Puja Bumper of 24 October — ticket prices, full prize lists, the Diwali and New Year pattern, and how to read a bumper result.
Four Dear bumpers have been drawn in 2026 so far, all at 6 PM, with a ₹500 ticket and a ₹3 crore first prize: May Day (16 May), Rathyatra (18 July), Ganesh Chaturthi (19 September) and the Puja Bumper (Saturday 24 October). As of 25 October 2026, no date has been announced for a 2026 Diwali or New Year bumper. Diwali falls on Sunday 8 November. A bumper has its own ticket, name and result sheet, separate from the daily 1 PM, 6 PM and 8 PM draws.
What a bumper draw is
A bumper is a special, one-off draw that Nagaland or Sikkim State Lotteries runs for a festival or occasion — Durga Puja, Diwali, Holi, New Year and so on. It has its own name, its own ticket and its own result sheet.
The regular draws don't stop for it. On bumper days in 2026 the normal 6 PM draw was also held, so that evening had two result sheets. Match the name printed on your ticket to the name at the top of the sheet.
There's also a legal cap. Section 4(j) of the Lotteries (Regulation) Act, 1998 allows no more than six bumper draws of a lottery in a calendar year.
| Regular daily draw | Bumper draw (2026) | |
|---|---|---|
| How often | Three times a day | A few times a year, around festivals |
| Ticket price | ₹7 | ₹500 |
| 1st prize | ₹1 crore | ₹3 crore |
| Ticket number | 74J 42058 — two digits and a letter, then 5 digits | B 482916 — a letter, then 6 digits |
| Consolation prize | ₹1,000 (same number, other series) | Varies — none on some 2026 sheets |
| Lower prizes | Last 4 digits | Last 4 digits |
The ticket numbers are examples.

Diwali, Kali Puja and New Year: what to expect
As of 25 October 2026, no date had been published for a 2026 Diwali–Kali Puja or Christmas–New Year Dear bumper. Diwali and Kali Puja fall on Sunday 8 November 2026. Past years give the pattern:
| Bumper (Nagaland) | Drawn | Ticket | 1st prize |
|---|---|---|---|
| Diwali Special | Sat 22 Oct 2022, 8 PM | ₹500 | ₹5 crore |
| Diwali Kali Puja | Tue 25 Oct 2022, 8 PM | ₹2,000 | ₹5 crore |
| Christmas & New Year | Sun 1 Jan 2023, 6 PM | ₹500 | ₹2.5 crore |
| Puja | Sat 28 Oct 2023, 8 PM | ₹500 | ₹5 crore |
| Diwali | Sat 9 Nov 2024, 8 PM | ₹500 | ₹3 crore |
In October 2022 Nagaland also ran a Durga Puja Bumper (8 October) and a Puja Special Bumper (15 October).
What the pattern says:
- Festive bumpers fell between early October and mid-November, with a New Year bumper around 1 January.
- Most were drawn on a Saturday, often a few days after the festival rather than on it. The 2023 Puja Bumper, like this year's, came the Saturday after Vijaya Dashami.
- Prices and prizes change. ₹500 is usual, but the 2022 Kali Puja bumper cost ₹2,000. First prizes have ranged from ₹2.5 crore to ₹5 crore. Some bumpers have one 1st prize per series — the 2024 Diwali Bumper had two, for series A and series B.
- Every 2026 bumper so far was drawn at 6 PM. Earlier festive bumpers were mostly at 8 PM.
We'll add the date to this page as soon as a 2026 Diwali or New Year bumper is announced. Until then, treat any date that appears only in a forwarded message as unconfirmed. The draw date and time are printed on every bumper ticket.
Prize structure
Each bumper sets its own prize list. Here are the two most recent, as reported.
Dear Ganesh Chaturthi Bumper — Sikkim, 19 September 2026
| Prize | Amount | Prizes | What must match |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | ₹3,00,00,000 | 1 | Series letter and all 6 digits |
| 2nd | ₹10,00,000 | 2 | Series letter and all 6 digits |
| 3rd | ₹5,00,000 | 2 | Series letter and all 6 digits |
| 4th | ₹9,000 | 600 | Last 4 digits |
| 5th | ₹5,000 | 600 | Last 4 digits |
| 6th | ₹3,000 | 600 | Last 4 digits |
| 7th | ₹1,000 | 30,000 | Last 4 digits |
About 6 lakh tickets were reported in circulation. Each 4-digit ending is printed on many tickets, which is why a 4th-prize list of 10 endings produces 600 winners. Both 2nd prizes were marked "unsold".
Dear Puja Bumper — 24 October 2026
| Prize | Amount | Winning numbers listed |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | ₹3 crore | 1 (B 867155) |
| 2nd | ₹10 lakh | 1 |
| 3rd | ₹5 lakh | 1 |
| 4th | ₹9,000 | 10 endings |
| 5th | ₹5,000 | 10 endings |
| 6th | ₹3,000 | 10 endings |
| 7th | ₹1,000 | About 500 endings |
The reported Puja sheet also lists a consolation line for the 1st-prize digits; check the official sheet for its amount. The number of winners per ending depends on how many tickets were printed, which wasn't reported.
The maths, roughly
For the Ganesh Chaturthi Bumper, the prize list adds up to about ₹7.32 crore, against about ₹30 crore of tickets (6 lakh × ₹500). So roughly a quarter of the ticket money comes back as prizes, and about 1 ticket in 19 wins anything — usually the ₹1,000 7th prize. The ₹500 ticket is far more expensive per chance than a ₹7 daily ticket.
Reading a bumper result
On the 2026 bumpers, the ticket number was a series letter followed by six digits: B 482916 — series B, number 482916, last four digits 2916.
Check a bumper ticket in four steps:
- Find the result sheet with your bumper's name and draw date — not the regular sheet from the same evening.
- For the top prizes, compare the series letter and all six digits. Both must match exactly.
- For the lower prizes, compare only the last 4 digits.
- Confirm the win on the official sheet before you claim.
A winning number marked "unsold" never reached a buyer, so that prize goes back to the state.
Worked example
Say the 1st prize is B 482916, the 3rd prize is A 730154, and the 4th prize list includes 6602. These numbers are made up, and this example sheet has no consolation prize.
| Your ticket | Result | Why |
|---|---|---|
| B 482916 | 1st Prize | Series letter and all 6 digits match |
| A 482916 | No prize | Right digits, wrong series — and no consolation tier |
| A 730154 | 3rd Prize | Series letter and all 6 digits match |
| B 916602 | 4th Prize | Last 4 digits, 6602, are in the 4th prize list |
| B 482917 | No prize | One digit off the 1st prize doesn't count |
Claiming a bumper prize
- Up to ₹10,000 — the 4th to 7th prizes on the 2026 bumpers — can be claimed at an authorised lottery shop.
- Above ₹10,000 — the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes — are claimed from the directorate of the state named on the ticket: Nagaland in Kohima (or a Nagaland nodal office), Sikkim in Gangtok.
- Nagaland's claims must be in within 30 days of the draw, with the original ticket, the claim form, PAN, Aadhaar, bank details with a cancelled cheque, three passport-size photographs, attested copies and an affidavit of ownership. Full details are in our prize claim guide.
- Prizes above ₹10,000 are paid after 30% TDS under section 393(3) of the Income-tax Act, 2025. On a ₹3 crore prize that's ₹90 lakh at payment, and the full tax comes to about ₹1.17 crore, leaving about ₹1.83 crore — see our take-home guide.
